At this meeting, there will be an in-depth look at the Nexus of Forces, i.e. the intersection of Social, Mobile, Cloud Computing, and the growing world of Big Data. Key issues and current trends will be discussed. Case studies and specifics will be used to depict how the Nexus of Forces has progressed, what Gartner is now advising, and what are the revolutionizing trends?  How aggressive is use of the cloud, how has this impacted ownership and governance, and how are business units offsetting increased spends for IT?  How deep and how broad must IT and the role of the CIO change? What are examples of cultural change and new business opportunities? How are social analytics being used? What is the growth in importance and variety of information used to advantage in some businesses? Are there new roles in IT and business operations gaining ground?

In the first half of the meeting, Marc Andonian, VP/Executive Partner, Gartner Executive Programs, Gartner, Inc. will present “Nexus of Forces – Moving to a More Digital Future”. “Organizational investments in technology are increasingly focusing on digitization initiative that are the result of the “Nexus of Forces” – the intersection of Social, Mobile, and Cloud Computing, and the growing world of Big Data. Join us as we explore this growing macro trend, and discuss its implications in support of organizational excellence and profitable growth or mission attainment. What are CIOs doing to seize and realize opportunities in the Nexus? What are the benefits and possible risks? What should CIOs be thinking about as we move toward harvesting an increasingly digital future? (Andonian, 2013)”.

The second part of the meeting will be a panel discussion with Q&A with the audience on more specific information on how companies are seeing this Nexus of Forces play out.
