Please join members of the Mid-Atlantic CIO Forum and invited guests at the May 16 meeting! In the first section of the meeting, after host CIO Chuck Bristow, DOT/OTTS, State of Maryland welcomes CIO members and invited guests. Richard R Dye, CHART Systems Administrator, Maryland State Highway Administration, Statewide Operations Center will give a presentation on CHART. CHART is a comprehensive, advanced traffic management system enhanced by a newly constructed state-of-the-art command and control center called the Statewide Operations Center (SOC). The SOC is the "hub" of the CHART system, functioning 24 hours-a-day, seven days a week with satellite Traffic Operations Centers (TOCs) spread across the state to handle peak-period traffic. A tour of the facility will be given following the presentation.
After the tour, the meeting will then go into a closed roundtable meeting on “Vendor Management”. Rachel Barger , Vice President – Mid-Atlantic & South regions, Ariba, will present on the topic of "The New Rules of Vendor Management" where she will explore global trends and challenges impacting today's supply chains which are making it necessary to share information and collaborate more efficiently across a company's entire vendor base. Through the course of this discussion she will also highlight how these challenges are impacting finance, operations and procurement departments, as well as the ways in which CIOs can best support these business partners for success in this new era. Ms. Barger will additionally cover several recent case studies of companies leveraging business networks to address these challenges and transform the productivity of their supply chains.
The second speaker is Vinod Bagal, Managing Director, Accenture, LLP. Mr. Bagal will address service level management with emphasis on successfully managing the overall process and vendor performance. He will examine the challenges current CIO’s are facing – managing a hybrid environment. He will discuss options to manage complex enterprise technology environments including building your own, outsourcing to a service provider and selection and managing of best of breed service providers. Mr. Bagal will discuss with the group what to look for in selecting and managing service provider in a multi-vendor (best of breed) arrangement while assuring effective measures to meet company goals such as cost control, business growth and change requirements.
This is a roundtable meeting. The meeting starts at 8:00 AM and ends by 1PM. Brunch and lunch are provided. Pre-registration is required.
