Mid-Atlantic CIO Forum Meeting Announcement  CIO to CIO Roundtable Thursday, September 18, 2008 Location: Towson University 

Please join us on September 18, 2008 at the first meeting in the sixth year of the Mid-Atlantic CIO Forum! It has become a popular tradition to start each Forum year with a “CIO to CIO Roundtable”  meeting. And so the tradition continues. This unique meeting format offers a rare opportunity for each CIO to talk candidly and share information and ideas with peers on challenges, concerns, experiences and trends on key topics currently on their minds. Each CIO participating selects what topic they would like to discuss.

The meeting will start with presentations by three of our CIO members profiling their businesses and IT environments; namely John Lambeth, CIO, Erickson Retirement Communities, Vincent Johnson, Vice President of Technology, The Wolf Organization, and Jeff Schmidt, Associate VP and CIO, Towson University. After these presentations, the meeting will move into a "round the table" format where each participant has the opportunity to put forth and discuss topics of their choosing –share experiences on initiatives within their organizations, raise questions on issues they are working through, and share knowledge on matters that they think will be of interest to the group at large.

Innovation was the focus for the roundtable at the meeting in last May at Black & Decker. Some members said they would like to spend more time to discuss innovation experiences and projects. While we have not made innovation the focus for this meeting, this meeting is a great opportunity to continue dialogue on innovation while the group is in the roundtable discussion part of the meeting.

The roundtable meeting is restricted to CIO members and guest CIOs. All participants will have signed a non-disclosure agreement. In the peer - to - peer roundtable, only CIOs are present; no vendor members, TU staff or professors or outside speakers participate. This is a unique and rare opportunity for CIOs to share knowledge and discuss critical topics in a CIO friendly, confidential environment.

Meetings are held in the Minnegan Room located on the 3rd floor of the Field House behind Johnny Unitas Stadium at Towson University. Parking permits are given when you arrive at Parking Lot 20 by the parking attendant.

Directions Via the Baltimore Beltway, I-695: Take Exit 25 (Charles Street) and proceed south approximately 1.7 miles. Turn left on Towsontown Boulevard. At the first traffic light, turn right onto Osler Drive. Proceed on Osler Drive approximately 1 mile, passing through two traffic lights. Turn right on Auburn Drive. Follow Auburn Drive, passing through stop sign and over speed humps. The Field House will be the red brick building on your right.
