On January 19, 2006 the Mid-Atlantic CIO Forum will hold a CIO roundtable meeting as its monthly meeting. A special format for the roundtable is being used for this meeting. The meeting will be split in two: the first part will be a closed room session of CIOs only and the second part will be an open meeting with guest participants from some of our vendor member organizations. This is a great opportunity to get to know other CIOs better and for all to share knowledge and raise questions to the group at large. Please join our members at the meeting! The first half of the meeting will consist of three facilitated discussions. They are: (1) a discussion on achieving Sarbanes Oxley compliance, which will be led by Tim Talbot, Senior VP & CIO of PHH Arval, (2) a discussion of compliance and its place in the organization led by Mike Whitehead, Vice President and General Manager Global Business Solutions of McCormick & Company, and (3) a discussion on the commoditization of application development led by Don Taylor, CIO of Perdue Farms, Inc. In the second half of the meeting, the Forum has invited some of its vendor members to make presentations on topics of their choosing. Our vendor members are very supportive of the Forum, but usually do not have a choice of topic. It should be interesting to see how our vendor members take advantage of this opportunity. The meeting is restricted to CIO members and guest CIOs. All participants will have signed a non-disclosure agreement. In the second half of the meeting members of three vendor organizations who are vendor members of the Forum will be present for this open portion of the meeting. The meeting starts at 8:00 AM and is held on campus at Towson University. Brunch and lunch are provided. The meeting runs until noon, with lunch following. Pre-registration is required. Meeting logistics will be emailed to you after you register. We would love to have you participate. To register, please contact Liz Young at lyoung@towson.edu or 410-790-9362.
