Notice of Change in Meeting Type We are changing the March 15 meeting to be a Roundtable Plus meeting. Several of our members asked if they could bring a staff member as a guest - due to the nature of the topic. The board has approved that we change the meeting type accordingly. Please remember that we do maintain the roundtable atmosphere in the Roundtable Plus meeting. To do this, we limit number of guests per member to one. If you want to waitlist a second person, you can do so, but seats will only open up if some members do not invite guests. Please plan to join CIO members and CIO guests at the March meeting of the Mid-Atlantic CIO Forum . Please note the topic for the March 15 meeting has been changed!* The new topic for the March meeting is "Desktop Management and Control". Desktop deployment has continued to evolve with changes to the desktop operating system as well as the growth in thin client computing. Please join us as we discuss the future of desktop deployment with an early adopter of the Microsoft Vista Operating System. During this presentation Microsoft's Business Desktop Deployment framework and the new Windows Automatic Installation Kit will be covered from an "in the trenches" viewpoint. Since what is old becomes new again, the occurrence of thin client computing continues to grow. With 99 of the top Fortune 100 companies using Citrix, what are the advantages of moving to pervasive thin computing throughout the enterprise? How does this change the desktop management paradigm? What does Citrix plan for the future? Join in the dialogue with CIOs at the roundtable on these competing strategies and other topics the CIOs choose to raise. The March 15 meeting has been changed to be a Roundtable Plus meeting. All participants will have signed a non-disclosure agreement. At Roundtable Plus meetings, CIO members may invite one guest each to the meeting. This is a unique and rare opportunity for CIOs to share knowledge and discuss critical topics in a very CIO friendly, confidential environment. The meeting starts at 8:00 AM and is held on campus at Towson University. Brunch and lunch are provided. The meeting runs until 1:00 PM. Pre-registration is required. Meeting logistics will be emailed to you after you register. Please join us for this meeting. To register, please contact Catherine Swift at cswift@towson.edu or 410-704-4252. * The original topic for the March 15 meeting: Emergency Management/Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity Planning has been re-scheduled to April 19. Essentially the March and April meetings of the Forum were swapped. To make inquiries about this meeting or about membership in the Mid-Atlantic CIO Forum, please contact: Liz Young
