Location: Towson University This is the first meeting with the CIO Roundtable Plus format! Please plan to join CIO members and invited guests at the November 16 meeting of the Mid-Atlantic CIO Forum. This is the first Forum meeting using the Roundtable Plus format. Last year in reviewing input from our CIO members for planning our events for this year, many CIO members requested there be opportunities to invite one guest each to some of the roundtable meetings, normally meetings solely for CIOs. To satisfy this request, we are having the first Roundtable Plus meeting. Only CIO members, guest CIOs and guests invited by CIO members will be at this meeting. Vendor members and Towson University academia are not in the meeting. The roundtable format will be used and all participants will have signed a non-disclosure agreement. The topic for this Roundtable Plus meeting is Security Management. The roundtable is split into three parts. In the morning we will have a two part roundtable. First, John C. Becker, CEO of Cybertrust, Inc. will present an executive briefing on information security and risk management. Positioned as a recognized leader in security intelligence and services in the global business environment, Mr. Becker will discuss his understanding of current threats, technologies, strategies and options in play today and share his vision of the coming frontiers in information security that CIOs should consider in developing comprehensive security programs. For the second half of the morning roundtable, there will be a panel of three industry specialists in security: - Jeff Stutzman, Program Manager, Cyber Threats and Intelligence, Sector Security Officer, Northrop Grumman Corporation, Electronics Sector, (Panel Chair)
- A. Bryan Sartin, Vice President, Investigative Response, Cybertrust, Inc.
- Michael Rossman, Director, Global Information Security, McCormick & Company, Inc.
The panel has been charged with looking at three aspects of security. Mike Rossman will focus on process and control. Jeff Stutzman will examine tactical deployments and experiences in security defenses in terms of architecture, and Bryan Sartin will share his expertise in forensics, investigative responses and vulnerability studies. The panel will do both presentations and discussions with meeting participants. For those wishing to participate, there is also a special session for security managers of member organizations after lunch. Many CIO members and security managers from member organizations have expressed interest in resuming the security network among member companies. Those participating in the afternoon session will be asked to confirm their interest in resumption of the security network and develop a logistical approach for the network to continue. Panelists will be staying to continue discussions with security managers. CIO members are welcome to participate.
